A couple of illustrations for Esquire Latin America about some unexplained suicides in a southamerican city. I came up with the idea of an idyllic town enthralled by an ominous and sinister entity below it, playing a deadly symphony. The portrait of the old man tells the tragedy of this guy who blinded himself as a result of a failed suicide attempt. The sad dog refers to local lore about canines being unable to bark, maybe because they live in fear. The editors decided to tweak the color of the sky to red, adding even more drama to the image.
